Full Stack Application Developer: AI & Automation
Work at the intersection of automation, full‑stack engineering and AI, turning complex processes into smart, scalable, agent‑driven systems.
HAYPP GROUP
We address one of the world’s biggest problems – how to end smoking. There are 1,1 billion smokers in the world. Around 8 million people die every year from smoking-related diseases. Our goal is to significantly reduce death rates, save lives and inspire people to choose smoke-free enjoyment. How? By offering people other nicotine products online.
Haypp Group is one of the Nordics’ leading e-commerce groups with eleven store brands, present in seven countries where we serve more than 1 million active consumers. Through brands such as Snusbolaget.se, Northerner.com, Nicokick.com etc., we sell nicotine pouches, Swedish style snus online as well as disposable vapes. With our headquarters located on Östgötagatan in Stockholm we are 300 team members mainly but not exclusively based in Sweden. Also, we are an innovative and fast-moving company that is growing rapidly, driving sustainable business and are changing the world in the process. We are currently on an exciting expansion journey, converting more and more smokers to smoke-free alternatives across all our markets globally.
THE ROLE
Join our Data Team as a Full Stack Application Developer / Automation Engineer, where you will design, build, and scale automation solutions that connect core business systems across ecommerce, CRM, supplier operations, and data platforms.
You will combine workflow orchestration, full-stack development, APIs, backend services, and internal tools to create reliable end-to-end business processes. Your work will reduce manual effort, improve efficiency, and handle real-world complexity such as retries, partial failures, inconsistent data, and system-to-system handoffs.
Beyond traditional automation, you will also help build AI-powered and agent-driven workflows, using LLMs to reason over data, make decisions, call tools, and coordinate multi-step processes.
You will work closely with business, data, and technical stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities and deliver maintainable, secure, and scalable automation systems that connect people, tools, and data across the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Build backend-driven automations
Design and implement workflows and services that orchestrate data, actions, and business logic across multiple systems, including transformations, retries, edge cases, and failure handling.
Develop and manage integrations
Work hands-on with REST APIs, webhooks, ecommerce platforms, CRM systems, marketing tools, internal APIs, and data platforms, ensuring secure and reliable system-to-system communication.
Build AI-enhanced and agentic workflows
Create workflows where LLMs can reason over data, decide next steps, call APIs or tools, and support semi-autonomous processes using structured outputs and human-in-the-loop patterns.
Own production reliability
Monitor, debug, and improve workflows in production, strengthening observability, performance, error handling, and data consistency across connected systems.
Contribute across the stack
Build backend services in Node.js or Python, integration layers, APIs, and frontend tools in React or similar frameworks when needed to support automation workflows.
Collaborate across teams
Work with data, product, business, and engineering teams to translate business processes into scalable automated systems and identify opportunities for automation and AI augmentation.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
We value both technical expertise and cultural fit. You enjoy collaborating, experimenting, and building solutions that make a real impact.
Technical expertice:
5+ years of experience building backend systems
Experience with real-world integrations, including APIs, webhooks, and third-party services
Experience building or maintaining automation workflows using n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar tools
Experience working with LLMs or AI systems, such as APIs, structured outputs, or tool usage
Strong ability to debug production issues
A systems-oriented mindset, with an understanding of data flows, failure handling, and operational reliability
Ability to move from idea to working solution to production
Nice to Have:
Experience with n8n, especially self-hosted setups
Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar
Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or NoSQL
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or similar
Understanding of event-driven systems or data pipelines
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
Business processes are reliably automated end-to-end
Manual operations are reduced through smart workflows and internal tools
AI-driven automations are introduced beyond static rule-based processes
Systems are scalable, observable, secure, and maintainable
WHY THIS ROLE IS INTERESTING:
This is not a traditional automation role. You will work at the intersection of workflow automation, full-stack engineering, backend integrations, and AI-driven systems, helping the business evolve from simple integrations to intelligent, semi-autonomous workflows.
