THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our core engineering organization in Stockholm and shape the next stage of Haypp Group’s technology landscape. In this senior leadership role, you are responsible for the engineering area powering our wider technical ecosystem – including platform, services, integrations, and the architecture that enables us to scale across markets, brands, and regulatory environments.

You lead through five direct reports (two Engineering Managers, one Product Manager, and two Product Owners) and are part of the Tech management team, reporting to the CTO alongside the Head of Data and Head of Group IT. This is a role at the intersection of technology, people, and business. You are expected to combine strategic leadership with strong technical judgment, staying close enough to architecture and system design to guide direction, challenge trade-offs, and ensure engineering excellence.

In this role, you will:

 • Lead and develop the engineering organization through your direct reports
 • Own and evolve the technical direction and architecture across the e-commerce ecosystem
 • Ensure scalable, secure, reliable and maintainable systems across markets and platforms
 • Drive technical excellence and high standards in engineering delivery and quality
 • Collaborate closely with Product and business stakeholders to translate needs into technical execution
 • Balance trade-offs between speed, cost, risk, stability and long-term sustainability
 • Build a scalable organization with strong leadership, structure and capabilities for future growth
 • Contribute as part of the Tech management team to overall technology strategy and direction

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 • Proven senior leadership experience in leading and scaling engineering organizations, either through other managers or directly, regardless of specific title
 • Experience driving impact in complex, business-critical digital products or platforms with high transaction volumes and strong requirements on scalability, availability, reliability, and security. Experience from transaction-heavy B2C environments is especially valued (e.g. e-commerce, marketplaces, fintech, or similar)
 • A solid technical foundation, with the ability to engage credibly in high-level architectural discussions, system design decisions, and technology trade-offs
 • A strong understanding of how technical decisions influence business outcomes, customer experience, and organizational effectiveness
 • A clear, authentic leadership approach with the ability to build trust, alignment, and strong collaboration across teams and functions
 • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear and relevant insights for non-technical stakeholders
